WRITING IRELAND TRIP SEPTEMBER 15-23 2018

You are a writer. You are looking for inspiration from past and present Irish writers, and from the vibrant buzz of Dublin City, and the rugged and remote Wild Atlantic Way.

Spend the first two days in Dublin, and treat yourself to an exploration of the city that inspired James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Paula Meehan, and many more great writers. You will stay in a city centre hotel, close to St. Stephen’s Green, and whether you visit the libraries and browse the bookshops, or find a quiet corner to study Dublin life, you will soak up the atmosphere of this old and beautiful city.

Then we move on to the craggy North West Coast. Your accommodation will be in beachside apartments, overlooking the wild Atlantic. Nature is spectacular and bracing here, from the sea cliffs at Sliabh Liag, to deserted islands of Lough Erne, to the historic abbeys, castles and towers that display the rich history and culture of Ireland. We will take you to visit Yeats Country, Heaney Country, and introduce you to Gaelic Ireland. You will enjoy literary talks, workshops and tours, and still have some time for your own work.

This program is for you and your imagination. We will take you to some of the most beautiful landscapes and seascapes, from sunrise to sunset. Your workshop time will include lectures and workshops with renowned Irish writers and poets.
