Delta College Sustainability Program in Ireland May 1-12 2018

14th May 2018

Our dear friends Tari Hackborne & Linda Petee returned from Delta College MI with 20 wonderful students on a program to Ireland which focused on sustainability and the environment. The program included visits to The Cavan Burren with the inimitable Seamus, Donegal Castle and Donegal Town, a tour of the hydro-electric dam at Cathaleen’s Falls, Ballyshannon, and a service visit to Bundoran Community Garden, the Crest Centre, Devenish Island with Erne Tours, some incredibly good fish and chips from the Killybegs seafood shack, and a GAA hurling tournament at Ballyshannon.  We also had the usual fun surfing in the beautiful Atlantic, and horse-back riding along the dunes. Our program also included a visit to St. Angela’s College in Sligo, for an excellent lecture on sustainability by Professor Helen Maguire, and a tour of the campus. Amazing gang of people and a great couple of weeks. Here’s the photos!
