HAWAII/SNOW/ECU
Off we go again! A big fat Fáilte to our new groups from East Carolina University, Kapi’olani Community College Hawai’i, Hawai’i Community College and Snow College Utah. We started off in Dublin, – the early arrivals got in Trinity College and the Bog Bodies, some went to the Botanic Gardens, then dinner in Monto, comfiest of beds at the Camden Court Hotel, today, Epic Museum, then Hill of Tara, and finally dinner at McGarrigles restaurant and a sunset beach walk, and zzzzz at the Atlantic Apartotel. PHEW!
Our first day in Donegal begins in the classroom, with some work on the O’Donnells and their part in the defence of Gaelic Ireland, their defeat, and the Plantation of Ulster [in the context of how colonisation works] -so the site visit began at Assaroe Abbey (Eas Aodh Rua), St. Patrick’s Well and Catsby Cave. Catsby Cave is one of the most beautiful locations in Donegal, and the site of a Mass Rock back in Penal times. We had fun down here today with @kccbosa Snow College Hawaii Community College East Carolina University (and the doggie came too!) We also checked out the flora and fauna of Ballyshannon with Ecu ScienceEd @ecuglobal ECU Education Abroad
