Standing Still is Falling Behind

Professional Development in Leadership and
Internationalization for Community Colleges

(Program Begins Nov. 6 –  Depart from USA Nov. 5, Return no earlier than Nov. 11)

This program is designed for presidents and senior leaders responsible for academic strategy and resource allocation. It focuses on intentional curriculum internationalization by embedding global perspectives, standards, and practices into existing programs to strengthen quality, relevance, and outcomes. Participants gain a clear understanding of the risks of delaying action, practical frameworks for curriculum internationalization, scalable institution-wide approaches, and tools to align curriculum with workforce needs, accreditation requirements, and institutional mission.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER : DR. ROSALIND LATINER RABY
Director, California Colleges for International Education &
Editor-in-Chief Journal of Comparative and International Higher Education

This Seminar combines leadership development with immersive site visits across Ireland to support curriculum internationalization. It begins in Dublin with institutional context setting and travel through the Boyne Valley, including a visit to Newgrange, followed by arrival in Donegal and an opening keynote on the strategic risks of non-internationalization in community colleges, alongside cultural engagement through traditional Irish music.

In Donegal, participants engage in leadership seminars focused on integrating STEM and CTE with cultural narratives, followed by site visits to Sliabh Liag Cliffs and the Donegal Gaeltacht, paired with faculty and leadership dialogue and applied problem-solving sessions to develop adaptable institutional models.

The program then shifts to cultural and workforce contextualization through visits to Atlantic Technological University and Glenveagh Castle, with structured reflection on linking cultural context to learner competencies and workforce readiness, culminating in a strategy workshop on curriculum design.

It concludes with a return journey to Dublin via Sligo, including a leadership planning session, a closing commitments roundtable, and a final group dinner focused on translating insights into institutional action.

PROGRAM WILL BEGIN Nov. 6 & ENDS Nov 10 –
