Milwaukee Irish Fest & Summer School 2022

It’s always an honour to be invited to teach at the Celtic MKE Summer School, and a bonus to be able to present at the Cultural Tent at the Milwaukee Irish Fest – and to have a stand where we can chat to people about what we do. We’d be lost without the terrific support of two great Wisconsin Wonder Women- Nancy & Jennifer – and our evergreen friends, Pat and Jane Fitzgibbons, Barry Stapleton and Colleen Kennedy. This year’s Fest was particularly fantastic, for two reasons- first of all, Celtic MKE created a presentation especially for local community colleges, so we were delighted to welcome students from Northeastern Wisconsin, Fox Valley Tech (and thanks to Marcel!) and College of DuPage. Secondly, because we were able to be on the same bill as the amazing Brianna and Leon from the Black & Irish organisation, who were brilliant. Thanks to all who came to Niamh’s classes, to our cultural tent presentation, and to the stand. And BIG congrats to the winner of our trip for two to the CALLING Irish Festival – Mary Ann Staupe! Herself and Jack will be winging their way to Ireland for free in January for this great combination of Donegal’s Atlanticfest and Dublin’s Tradfest. (More info on this here).
